We have arranged for a block of rooms at a conference rate of $99.00/night. Please refer to the group code EUB when making your reservation. You can make your arrangements online at Holiday in Bridgeport
There will be a shuttle between the hotel and the University (limited hours) during the conference.
Parking
Parking on campus is free, unassigned, and there is no shortage of spaces when arriving in the morning. We do recommend you park in a university lot and not on the street and not leave valuables, briefcases, bags, backpacks, or suitcases in the car where they are visible.
Here are the driving directions to the assigned parking lot and the 9 th Floor of the Arnold Bernhard Arts & Humanities Center where most of the conference will take place:
If you come down Broad Street, Lafayette Street, or Myrtle Avenue make a right on Gregory Street and a left on Park Avenue.
From Park Avenue, make a right on to University Avenue at the clock (first right once on the campus).
Immediately after you pass Linden Avenue on your left, make a right into the large parking lot on your right on the corner of University Ave. and Rennell Street (unmarked street) in front of Isaac E. Shine Hall. You do not need to display anything on your dashboard or mirror.
The Arnold Bernhard Arts & Humanities Center is diagonally across from this parking lot. Handicapped drivers should park in the lot at the Arnold Bernhard Center near University Avenue and enter the entrance on the University Avenue side of the building.
If you come to campus down Iranistan Avenue, make a left on Atlantic Avenue, a right on Rennell Street, and a left into the parking lot on the corner.
The main space for the conference is “The Tower Room” to your left after exiting the elevator on the 9 th floor. If you are walking on the campus and you ask for directions to the building, the building is also called the ABC Building by locals.
Public Transportation
There will be a shuttle between the hotel and the University (limited hours) during the conference.
The train station is two blocks from the hotel. The hotel is 1.25 miles from the University.
Trains on the Metro North New Haven Line (http://www.mta.info/mnr/) stop at the Bridgeport train station.
The city buses (http://www.gogbt.com/) to the University stop across from the train station. Walk diagonally across the street to the right and stand under the GBT bus sign and wait for bus #1 or bus #9 going towards “Seaside Park” or the “University of Bridgeport”. Make sure there is a “1” or a “9” in a circle on the GBT sign so you know you’re in the right place.
If you take the #1 bus to campus get off at the corner of Park Avenue and Atlantic Avenue, which is after the drive past the Seaside Park entrance and arch. Walk toward the clock and then walk down University Avenue to get to the Arnold Bernhard Humanities Center.
If you take the #9 bus, get off at Iranistan and Atlantic and continue walking one more block down Iranistan to the Arnold Bernhard Humanities Center.
If it is a nice day, you can also walk from the train station to campus (1.4 miles):
Walking Map
Take Right out of station if came from New Haven direction, take Left out of station if came from New York direction. If you pass the bus station, you're going the wrong direction.
Water Street to Broad Street (about 3 blocks).
Left onto Broad Street to University Avenue (about 5 blocks). Will pass ballpark on left, will pass under railroad trestle, enter residential neighborhood.
Right onto University Avenue (will see Salt & Pepper restaurant on left) which soon becomes a pedestrian path through campus, then will cross Park Avenue near the clock, turns back into regular street; proceed all the way to the end; ABC Building is on the left (about 4-5 blocks), the large building with the white ovid sticking out the side of the building.
